Academic painter Martin Pawera was born in 1952 in Polička, Czechoslovakia. He lived in Frýdek-Místek during his teen age. Since 90’s he lives in Havířov. He studied Academy of Fine Arts in Prague (1975–1981) in Professor Karel Souček’s atelier.

Martin Pawera is devoted to figural themes. He taught at the Faculty of Education, College of Arts Ostrava. Nowadays he is a teacher at Bohuslav Martinů Grammar School of Arts in Havířov. Since 2000 he organizes sculptural symposia Linden Havířov.

He has experienced over 140 individual national and international exhibitions. He has been presented at about 180 exhibitions. His paintings are exhibited in collections in Poland, France, USA, Canada, Germany, Italy, Slovenia, Spain and Great Britain. Also The National Gallery in Prague and Ministry of Culture, Czech Republic, collect his work.
